MPC Live switch pads method

Hi there, I’m a left-handed MPC Live user and I was wondering if there’s a quick method to swap 2 pads. For examples, all the existing kits are set up with Kicks on PAD 1 and 5, snares on PAD 2 and 4 and hi-hats on PAD 3 and 7. As a left-handed, I’d rather use a setup which will invert the kicks and hi-hats layout. Currently, I can copy one PAD to another place and paste it back but this is tedious. Sure, just make your own programs (kits).

Depends on your definition of quick but there's no swap button to do this, or a 2 click way method or something.

But did you know, there is this magical guide, written by a wizard and all the answers are in there.

Anyway, quickest way would be to go to program edit, and then select the sample you want on that pad there.

That's 2 clicks and scrolling the data wheel. Quick enough?

That works as long as there are no pad FX. Cuz then you need to set all that junk up too :/.

With the time you spend on here reading and typing you could have switched pads 10x over!

Okay, that’s what I thought, my initial method of copy and pasting PAD is the only option. Switching sound is not an option because as NearTao said, all the parameters, not only the FX, including PAN, Volume, subtle LFO, filters and not even mentioning multisampled kits with layers are part of the PAD.

By the way, I’m the type of guy, reading ALL the manual before posting anything. I’ve acquired the first MPC Live and I’ve read the 2.0 manual of 394 pages + the really complete MPC Bible of 760 pages and all the updated versions through the different updated firmwares. And I’ve thought, "damn, I can’t remember a swap button but maybe a MPC ninja has found a secret easteregg I’ve missed.

Have you tried doing it with the software?

Then on file is text readable format. I bet if you can understand the format you could copy paste or make a program to do it pretty easy.

Fair enough, but if it's not in both of those, maybe it's just not possible then..

I'm not sure if you can do it in the mpc software by drag & drop like charles is suggesting.

Maybe the best suggestion to do is to just have a dedicated evening of creating programs with the pads assigned to your wishes. There's also software to do it on the computer, I use MPC pad 187 for mac.

What about using the "copy" feature in Program menu and copying pad 1 (bank a) to pad 1 (bank b)? That’s quick. You just end up with your sinister left handed kits on the b-banks...

Necro.... but the way OP was disregarded on this is dumb. This should be easy but to our shame is not. Don't blame the user for wanting a clearer workflow.

Agreed. Copy pad is not a solution. You would think swap pads is a simple task. Not talking about swapping samples. I want the pad effects included in the swap.
