How does MPC One MIDI out port work?

I'm mainly a VJ and I'm looking at buying an MPC One for creating some audio-visual stuff. Can I take the MIDI out, send it to a MIDI to USB box and then plug that into Resolume? Do I have control over what sequences I'm sending? Can I send them over different MIDI channels? I think it'd be really cool to have some stuff trigger off recorded drum sequences, some other stuff off the bass line, etc. Is it also possible to send live playing on a seperate channel?

Depends on what you mean with control. If you change the active sequence in the MPC live while playing, it can send different midi signals from the new selected sequence.

After continuing my research I guess the stumbling block is it appears I can't have the same track play audio and send MIDI in standalone mode. So for each keygroup and drum program I'd have to copy to a MIDI out track. And I wouldn't be able to play in realtime sound and MIDI out at the same time. Correct me if I'm wrong.
