Just found this by following some links in the Akai beta forum :hmmm:

Looks like it's going to include a 16 step pattern with 4 pages (like elektron machines) and a keyboard with pitch/mod bent.

Mpc Live mk1 + Akai LPK 25?
It looks they just put one attached to other and made a photo :-)

Looks a bit like it, but the LPK doesn't have mod or pitch bend, or the step edit buttons. And the LPK has less keys!

It's photoshopped.
Look at the buttons on the top left, they are the same as mk1.
So it has no much sense, mk2 already has more buttons for modes, it would be a step behind mk2.
So it's a photoshopped mk1.

Placing the undo button to the left top (what they did on the MK2 from MK1) baffles me, and the position of the speaker to. So in terms of Akai making decisions that makes no sense; we just got started

The undo button placement on the Mk2 is beyond baffling. So you always have to reach with your left hand to press it.

I’m not going to lie though having 16 step buttons would be nice.

Though i guess some OS updates are needed to have it function like a good step sequencer...

Nope nope nope, that is not what the MPC needs. If they go keys, don't give us those bastardized keys, give us a MPK249 size kit. It would make it actually usable live. Just shove the X into a MPK249, junk the fader section and replace the middle section with the tiltable screen and the fader section with controls and Qlinks.

Might even be better to just replace the Force with this offering, swapping out the larger pads for a Launchpad mini style 64-pad grid.

But adding a super portable, cheap controller, to the Live, does absolutely NOTHING, it doesn't save you money, it doesn't save you space.

probably the wrong thread, but it would be super nice if they would release a extra 4x4 qlink board with led display, similar like the mpc x, for the rest of the product line. like a plug and play board which automatically displays the corresponding q link functions..
