Have a friend dropping off his, Kawai CA99 Digital Piano tomorrow. Is it worth doing 4 Layer Velocity for the MPC?

Settings:

Note Range: A0 to C7
Note Stride: 1
4 Layers Velocity
Note Length 8.0
Tail: 1.0
Loop: NO
Session Duration: 3300 secs

Recording Chain

Kawai CA99 to Portico 5043 to Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II.

It will sound great, but you'll soon find out why some of us want more RAM and/or disk streaming. Don't plan on having any other high quality keygroups in that song.

Yea that’s a huge keygroup. 8 might be overkill on the notes. It’s been a bit but I think I used 3.5 or 5 for more sustained notes and shorter for shorter things.

Perhaps you may want to experiment with them to see how much it really helps with the sound.

I can trade you on some Roland piano patches.
