Hi,
I was trying to use the tail of a drum kick for bass. Since the 16 level pitch is very limited I made a keygroup and used the kick sample on Program Edit skipping the attack, but looping gives much clicks.
In Sample Edit there is the xfade , but it affects all tracks using the same sample . Is there any workaround?

Sorry for the noob question, you mean make copies of the sample on the sd card , or there is a way to load the same sample multiple times on the sample pool ?

Well you could make a copy on the SD card, but if you wanted to do it while in the middle of a project on the MPC, depending on what you have set... I’d select the part you want to handle differently and do a “Process” -> “Extract”

'SAMPLE EDIT > PROCESS > COPY' is another way.

Or use non-destructive slices as each slice can have its own xfade setting and this uses no extra memory

Geeky easter egg: There is actually an option to add xfade to each instance of a sample in a program (therefore independant of the sample xfade setting), but it's not yet implemented in the standalone UI, it's been there for some time as a parameter in the XPM file itself - each layer has a 'LoopCrossfadeLength' parameter. I think it might be available to edit in the MPC Software, if you set the layer to PAD. Otherwise you could edit the XPM in a text editor.

Dont forget to set the Zero Snap....That gets rid of Clicks and Pops when u set the Loop Point

I am pretty sure it's my fault ,since I am still in learn mode!
Now when I am on sample edit menu ,changes I make , do not affect the sample in the drum program, even better,
I make the loop points with zero snap on and xfade and then load the same sample in the keygroup program and it works perfect :)

Maybe I don't understand yet the program sample edit (next to trim/chop in sample edit mode), vs the editing of the sample in program edit mode.

Thanks everyone for your help :)

The MPC Software ehh "software" has a customer feedback button in the lower right corner - I'll be using that heavily! :smoker:

Been using that feedback option since it’s inception and nothing has ever come of it.
