Mpc one troubleshooting

I have been having problems sampling with my mpc one, it only happens to a few sounds and songs but the audio is very quite and there is lots of distortion and white noise and a a weird sort of “wubbing” noise. I am using a headphone cable to line to connect it to my phone and I have tried numerous cables and tested to see if they work on other products and it seems to be fine. Could it be because I am recording in mono? Any help would be much appreciated.

You're probably having the TRS which is Left and Right content... being merged and causing phasing issues on the mono input on your MPC One. Make sure you have a splitter cable that goes TRS from the phone, to a Left T/S and Right T/S cable.
