Assign samples directly to layers

Hi,

is there a way to assign a sample directly to a layer ?

Actually I go to the browser, select a sample and load it, go back to program edit, select my layer, search the sample in the sample pool (with many samples).
It would be great to select a layer, go to the browser and then when I press "load", it's assign directly to my previously selected layer.

Any idea if it's possible ?

I find it a bit complicated to manage samples, preview different samples on a pattern (if they match or not) or making layers. Too much menu diving.

I agree, but nope, not possible. In the 5000 for example (on which the current MPC firmware/software is ultimately based on) you could assign to a specific layer direct from the load screen. I sent this as a feature request many moons ago.
