New to MPC: Anyway to stream Apple Music into sampler?

I have a massive cd library. Years ago I signed up for Apple Music which basically deleted all my actual files but I can search and stream anything from their library. I though maybe I could sample from their library but it sounds all messed up like the encryption is doing it’s thing so I can’t get a clean sample.

Am I doing something wrong or there is no easy way to do this? So I need to dig out of boxes my old cd library and stream from a CD player to bypass the encryption?

So, you’d want to connect your device to your MPC. I know of two ways to do this:

1. You can get a 3.5mm to lightning adapter and a stereo breakout cable and connect it to your MPC’s LINE IN.
2. You can get a Bluetooth media player, connect that to your mixer and connect it all to your MPC’s LINE IN.

The first way is a direct connection. Tethers your iPhone/iPod/iPad to the MPC via wires. The second way is something I’ve been trying out: you can stream your iPhone/iPod/iPad to the MPC via Bluetooth. It’s pretty cool too. I prefer the second way. I don’t have to be tethered to the MPC with wires and I can just be on my iPhone (I use Apple Music and YouTube) and when something catches my ear, it’ll be right into the MPC. I’ve been slowly downsizing my record collection because of this.

Yeah, that’s the stereo breakout cable, my first workaround. I think he’d need that adapter piece too if he has that lightning port in his iPad/iPhone/iPod. That’s how I used to do it.

I do this all of the time from my iPhone 8 and iPad (6th gen). Go the cable route, as doing it over Bluetooth compresses the audio even more, and depending on your standards, you may notice a difference in sound quality.

Lightening to 1/8" convertor (should have came with your iPhone), then a stereo 1/8" to dual 1/4" cable. If you're doing this from a Mac or PC, then just use the headphone out and pickup the stereo 1/8" to dual 1/4" cable.

On a side note, I also subscribe to Apple Music (as well as Apples cloud-based "iTunes Match". Neither service "deletes" your original files, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. All of the CD's that I ripped and MP3's that I had amassed prior are all exactly where I left them on my hard drive.

I suggest you start ripping those CD's now, it's best to not depend on any music cloud service.
