MPC Live and Logic Pro X question

So recently got back into logic as want to master in that rather than Ableton. Also don't have access to my usual audio interface, so I'm using the MPC as my audio interface in controller mode

Anyways, got the MPC software working fine as a plugin. What I want to do is use the MPC to also control logic vsts. But I for the life of me can't work out how to get the pads to trigger the vsts in logic?

Also, separate question, in controller mode can I still use the external inputs on the MPC?

I don't think the live works as seperate midi controller, you'd have to connect a midi cable from the mpc out to logic midi in.

I think you can use the inputs in controller mode, not sure, can you perhaps try it or is it not working?

Thanks thought that might be the case. Annoying as Logic recognises around 5 akai midi devices (including network midi) thought one of those would work. But assume they do function in standalone.

I did try my Korg NTS plugged in via USB and and audio cable plugged into the external in of the MPC. With monitor set to IN there was no sound and the korg NTS didn't appear in the usual usb midi settings. So assume this is another limitation in software.

Don't have access to my audio interface for s few days, so that's why I'm asking these simple questions. Was hoping the MPC could work well as an interface but guess it's limited in that regard.

Wasn't this a big bug in the plugin that it cant send out MIDI internally?

The MPC's inputs should work fine. When its in controller mode its basically a USB audio/midi interface with a built in control surface for the MPC software.. All the audio and MIDI ports will show up in Logic/Live like any other interface does.

Yes you can! You have to set up your banks in midi control mode. This tutorial was vital for me.....
