Hi
I'll just paste the message I've just sent to Akai following a frustrating hour or so.
I've been unable to install the driver on this machine (my main music desktop) but really want to in order to build some expansions.
I did request support from Akai some time back about this and heard nothing, so I'm not holding my breath. If anyone here has any good ideas on resolving this I'd appreciate hearing them.
Here's the message (slightly embarrassed about the rant at the start regards their tech support portal, but I'm only human, and it's a really crappy customer interface):
"Hi.
[Edit] PLEASE FORWARD THIS FOR TECH SUPPORT as I can't install the MPC Live driver, [slight rant follows] your stupid website won't accept this as a tech support request because I can't attach a purchase receipt even though I have got the bloody MPC registered with you already, and have had since I bought the thing (and no, I can't remember precisely when I did that either, but your system should have a record from when I first registered, yes?). Feedback: Please make your support portal a bit more user friendly rather than a system of hoops for your customers to jump through.
Tech query:
I'd like some help please: the driver will not install. (1.0.8, Win10).
Installer hangs on 'starting services'. Error popup: "Service 'MPC Live Audio Device Monitor' (MPCLiveAudioDevMon) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
The application is listed in the services (Win+R > services.msc) with automatic startup type.
When I try to run it run there, error popup: "Windows could not start[...] Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
Properties shows path to executable "C:\Program Files (x86)\Akai Professional\MPC Live\AudioDevMon.exe"
Attempting to run this (as admin or not) gives error: "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
A search shows that dll is installed here: "C:\Windows\System32\msvcr110.dll"
This is driving me nuts, I want to build expansions and can't do it.
Please advise on fixing this.
Thanks"
