Again, why ten? It's a subjective number. Anyway, regardless if they're important to you or me or not, there's a definite feature set that the X offers that One owners will never have. Obviously things like CV aren't one.

1. MPC X - 8 CV out over TS, MPC One needs 4x TRS splitters
2. Control up to 64 devices over MIDI instead of 16 (yeah you can use USB
3. Ableton Live Control
4. 16 Knobs of Q-Link Control
5. Q-Link output for all 16 knobs vs MPC One's 4 on screen display
6. Larger screen 10" vs 7"
7. 2 Stereo inputs vs 1 Stereo input
8. Input monitoring/direct switching
9. Dedicated buttons for more functions and features on MPC X
10. Adjustable display angle on the MPC X
11. Support for internal SSD drive
12. Able to natively mount drives of MPC X when in controller mode

I'm sure there's a few more... but that's what I rattled off the top of my head.

EDIT: Now of those 12 you've listed, get rid of 6 that you don't need.

1. MPC X - 8 CV out over TS, MPC One needs 4x TRS splitters
Good.

2. Control up to 64 devices over MIDI instead of 16 (yeah you can use USB)
USB KILLED THAT

3. Ableton Live Control
What if they use Cubase or Reason?

4. 16 Knobs of Q-Link Control
(Add a MIDI CONTROL)

5. Q-Link output for all 16 knobs vs MPC One's 4 on screen display
Not a deal breaker

6. Larger screen 10" vs 7"
Not a deal breaker

7. 2 Stereo inputs vs 1 Stereo input
Good.

8. Input monitoring/direct switching
Good.

9. Dedicated buttons for more functions and features on MPC X
Not a deal breaker

10. Adjustable display angle on the MPC X
Not a deal breaker

11. Support for internal SSD drive
Not a deal breaker

12. Able to natively mount drives of MPC X when in controller mode
Not a deal breaker (False Developer limitation.)

These are the one I see for myself that shows a difference, where there's no work around
or Developer False Limitation. Now the question is will you spend $1400+ for those 12 things you listed?

1. MPC X - 8 CV out over TS, MPC One needs 4x TRS splitters
7. 2 Stereo inputs vs 1 Stereo input
8. Input monitoring/direct switching

I'll add
Foot Switch
10 out MPC X vs 2 out MPC ONE

Isn't it already implied that I'm speaking for myself or must I state that each time I type my thoughts?

NearTao wrote:I had an X, sold it for a bit more than I bought it for... and got the Live mk2... if that means anything to you :D

Tell's me you didn't need it.

Okay, I'm off been up 18 hours, need rest for this session.

Then what was the point of asking him to list 10 important features that the MPC X can do that the MPC ONE can't? Seems like you’re looking for a debate.

MPC one is actually better then the MPCx.

The mpc one has a actual time correct on it.
The lcd screen on the one is glass verse plastic on the MPCX. Which equals better response time when using the touch screen.

MPC one is smaller, the note repeat is on the left of the pads. Which means you don't have to do hand gymnastics to operate it.

all in all I can explain all the features of why the MPCX is overrated versus the MPC one and you guys will still will not believe it.
It's just something you have to be hands-on to know the difference. Suburban versus efficient gas saver in China. The small Chevy will win.

1. You don't have an MPC ONE
2. You don't have or never owned an MPC X

So please kindly tell me why I should take you opinion seriously. When your actual in hand, long term, real world experience with both machines is not there. So until then, anything you have to say about the MPC X and One means absolutely nothing.

In this thread there are 4 people who own/owned the MPC X and two of those people like the MPC ONE. One sold the X for the MPC LIVE II, and one sold the X and live, and kept the MPC One. I know another who had the MPC X and sold it for the MPC LIVE.
