Recording Complete Vocals in Standalone Mode on MCP One

I have a specific question:
On the MPC One in Standalone mode, once I have compiled a song (Drums, Keys and Samples) as verse chorus and middle eight etc, can I then record vocals for the complete song from start to end in one take?

Yes, however; you are limited to a max of 8 audio tracks, and each track can only be a limit of 5 minutes max. Once you hit 4 minutes 59 seconds, you better stop recording or you will not be able to save your recordings and you will lose it all (if you're in standalone).

Wow I knew about the 5 minute limit, but I had no idea you couldn't save anything if you went beyond it. Goodness.

Yeah, a lesson I learned the hard way.. I swear, if they don't implement disc streaming in standalone by MPC Firmware 3.0 to address this, i'll be very sad.

Damn, yeah that's the most glaring need for disc streaming I've learned about. I'm late to that understanding. Hope 3.0 is a beast of an update.

WTF you can't save past 3:59 seconds? Is the X/Live great on that end?

Huh? No one said anything about 3:59 seconds. In standalone audio track recording length is capped at 5 minutes. Suggested you stop at 4:59 to make sure you don’t lose your recording.

It's crazy that people still running into that 5 min audio track limit. By the way it's not a bug, they programmed it that way.

Many thanks for your informative response that could save me about £500 on a separate standalone recorder.

Insightful thread, I wasn't aware of this limitation. Finally I see some use for disc streaming.

Man I made a mistake and put a 3 instead of a 4 LOL My bad

But dam 5 minutes in 2020? I couldn't work with that.

Yeah, this is pretty much the biggest use for disc streaming on the standalone devices that I can see (unless it's also incorporated into Keygroup Programs - imagine if we didn't have to worry about how large of a Keygroup sample set there was)?
