I was on FB and I seen a post about Portamento on the Live/X. Homie from Australia noticed Portamento and Legato settings in the Q-Link Page....

As skeptic as i was....I had to Double Check it! Its definitely There. It wasnt there in 2.6 but its there in 2.8!

But it seems its only available in the Keygroup settings tho

Good for slides!

Apparently there's a few more new options hidden in there that dont do anything like the free running LFO button in the software.. Sounds like the next update might be a good one if it ever comes.

I thought I saw mention of the new portamento, legato, slides feature in the 2.8.x update notes. Haven’t tried them yet myself.

It works for me in the Keygroup Settings

Actually portamento is half finished because ,in mono ,
even if you hold a pad while triggering a second pad and then releasing the second pad, the sound does not return to the first pad (hope it's clear)
Also found legato option ,but it doesn't work at all
If Akai adds legato and wrap mode in keygroup then we can play loops with the pads acting like a poly-pitch-shifter :)
Potramento will give extra psychedelic boost !

All of the portamento-related options work. But it's not as intuitive as a typical synth

Setting a keygroup to mono will yield poor results. Set the keygroup to TWO voices. You can also play around with mute groups and and sample play mode for different results as well.

if you hold a pad while triggering a second pad and then releasing the second pad, the sound does not return to the first pad

I know what you mean, and I haven't been able to do that exactly. But i'm confident there's a way to do this. It's just that the complex, sample-based nature of keygroups makes the solution a bit different.

no, you have to assign the portamento in the q-link settings page on standalone..
