Update for MPC Live this month?

Hello, I'm contemplating an MPC LIve 2. I have the MPC Live when it first came out, but sold it. I found the effects to be very limited, etc....

I'm contemplating a Maschine + as I like the fact that it has massive, etc.... But I think the MPC is superior in as far as the workflow capability.

On one of the FB groups, I heard that there is going to be a September 30th update to the firmware that might include more synth engines. I don't know if that is true or not, that is, that an update is going to drop the end of this month.

Someone posted about Akai's event which is a fact.
Then added that they might announce new features
Then Force beta testers started talking about new features
Now MPC users wait to see the new goodies of the MPC update...

Nothing to expect , some new sample packs maybe and collaborations

i truly hope they won't add anything new in the next update. A stable OS with no bugs, that should be first.

How do you guys find the stock synth engines or VST's?

There's only 3 of them, correct?

There are currently only 3 standalone plugins (with more rumored to be on the way... some day)... You can have a maximum of 8 instantiated plugins at any given time.

As for how we find them - you'll find varying degrees of opinions. The fact is that they are voice limited (to 4), so they aren't mind blowing - they're just good stock alternatives to sample keygroups and drum programs. Do they hold a candle to Massive, FM8, Prysm, Kontakt, etc on the Maschine+? Most would probably say no. YMMV.

As to whether we'll see a proper firmware update soon, well - you probably got far more info out of that Facebook group then you ever will here.

I like the internal synths when I'm out and about to get some placeholders for when I get backto my synths. For just jamming out they're oke but once I'm starting to produce I change them out.

This is exactly how I work now, but actually I quite often find myself keeping at least one of the synths from the mpc. There's some really usable stuff in there, Tube Synth especially. I don't get on too well with bassline. Electric is more than decent as well.

It's very easy to make such keygroups ourselves, I like the fact they put in in the box, but there isnt much need for it as you can just make tons of better ones yourself

He’s probably referring to the Akai MPC X / Live / One post by some guy who said he can’t talk about the new 2.9 firmware update, but talked about it... Still doesn’t give us any insight on what to expect, if anything.

It’s just a show . No updates planned to be announced or released .

Definitely a show but could lead to a typical Thursday update
