Hey,

Just added an MPC One as the centre of my new setup (Abyss + Nyx). Two questions:

1 - So far I have sequenced and then sampled 3, 8 bar performances. I'm now trying to create a 16 bar part. How is it best to do this? I thought I could select sequence 2 and make it 16 bars whilst sequence 1 plays in the background, but it seems only 1 sequence will play at once. Copy and pasting the 8 bar parts into 16 bars seems like a fiddly solution.

2 - Any way to set the two inputs as 2 mono inputs instead of a stereo pair?

Thanks for any help :smoker:

In response to your first question, MPCs have a unique workflow which you just need to read up on. The MPC Bible is what you need, otherwise you're going to have loads of similar questions.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, just after posting I decided to take the desperate measure of reading/skimming the manual :-D

I think I have a basic understanding of sequence/track/program. Sequences can't overlap with each other. As I'm making Ambient music I will have to get out of the software DAW habit of starting with 4/8 bar loops, then expanding and instead make my sequences 32/64 bars long to allow for long jams/drones.

Any idea how to make the inputs mono for monitoring? My Nyx is panned hard right and my Abyss hard left. When I set record for one input the recording is panned dead centre, which is great.

It should have been the FIRST thing to check after purchasing the gear.

It's actually the first thing to do BEFORE purchasing any gear :)

Tube Digga has some good techniques on this... check out his 1 sequence workflow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7Uet3zSUq8

Or he also does a good job of explaining the concept of sequences, tracks, programs:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSjsWS7Nj00
