Just got my first MPC, the MPC One. I am excited and have been playing with it the last couple days, trying to get used to how things work and the work flow.

I am struggling right now with a problem. Sometimes when I load a drum program it doesn't automatically assign the samples to the pads, other times it does.

I seem to have even more of a problem when I have two different drum tracks / patterns. The first track/drum pattern loads fine, assigning all the samples to the pads. When I go to track 2, and try and load a drum program into it, it doesn't assign them.

This isn't acceptable because I have many drum programs which are assigned to particular slices of a wave file.

Can ya tell me what I'm doing wrong?

prob the drum samples or slices were not saved together with your project...

Did you press the little + to add a new program on track 2?

What 64hz and wavejackey said. Also, have you updated to the latest MPC firmware from your account? You should be on 2.8.1.

I'll try those things, thanks y'all. I am on 2.8.0 and I just updated to it like the day before yesterday. I didn't see 2.8.1 available yet for MPC One, at the time.

Wavejockey, the idea of saving a drum program is that it's assigned to all the pads and you just simply load it into any new empty project and it's all mapped. This works about 80% of the time when I start a new project. All the pad assignments and even pad colors are stored in the program and loaded into the new project.

64hz, I did press + to add a new program just now, for Track 2. i.e. Progtram 2. I tried loading a drum program and it loaded the samples into memory but did not assign the pads. I can never get the drum program to automatically assign to pads if I've already done this with Track 1 / Program 1.

Can you guys try this to see if you have the same problem? Start with empty project and go directly to Program 1 then assign samples. Load the Drumkit 808. Then create a second track, press +, then click Program 2.. then assign samples and trying loading and assigning Drumkit 909. It just does not work for some reason.

I got the 2.8.1 installed now, thank you. I am still having a problem with the software automatically assigning pads to a new program with a second drum program.

I am loading multiple drum and instrument programs now without problems, with them properly assigned to pads. I notice all I had to do is change to the program just loaded on the 2nd track. It doesn't auto-assign anythign to the new Program I created, which makes sense. I didn't need to create another program because I wasn't assigning wav files to a program, but loading an entire drum program.
