MPC Noob. Simple clock Syncing the MPC one to Ableton Live.

Hi all,

I'm trying to get the MPC One sync via midi to Ableton Live. I'd prefer Live to be the master as it just suits the way I work. Usually this would entail ticking a box in the menu of the unit I want to synced to live to respond to incoming midi clock. I've looked in the midi and sync section of the One and cannot find a setting that achieves this.

I just want to press play on Ableton Live and have the MPC One start at the same time.

Surely this is possible?

Any ideas?

I'm not completely certain, but I think what you're looking to do is enable MMC on your MPC, and make sure midi sync is set to slave.

Akai MPC X/One/Live 2.8 Manual Page 80 should cover all the options.
