The ‘do you want to shut down’ message appears, then when I proceed, the screen freezes and nothing happens, have had to disconnect power and the screen stays on (residual battery power I guess). When plugged back in and restarting I get the ‘recovered from a serious error’ (no surprise there) message. A bit concerning. Could this be a bad RAM problem? I’ve also been hearing glitches and clicks, mostly when using the plugins, which sound very like DAW redraw glitches when RAM or CPU stretched to the max sounds....
1. Save that project or content that's on your built-in internal storage to an SSD, SD-Card, or USB storage and do a Factory Content restoration. Often this corrects many issues. The Factory Content restoration file
should be in your Akai account for download, but if it's not - you'll need to reach out to tech support.
2. Have you considered upgrading to 2.9? There's some bug fixes since 2.6 has been released...
3. If getting that stuff off of your built-in internal storage and doing a Factory Content restoration doesn't fix your issue, and upgrading to 2.9 isn't an option, then you likely have hardware failure. But to be sure, I would remove all attached storage (make sure to soft "eject" first!) and try saving your content to a new attached storage device to eliminate the possibility that one of your currently attached storage devices aren't the problem. Is your X still under warranty?
