1/4 TRS Cables

I know some people think cables are overrated, but can someone suggest (my budget is open) the best, high quality TRS 1/4 cables for input into my MPC One? I'll be sampling vinyl coming from a Pioneer DJSM 9 mixer.

Make your own. Buy quality shielded balanced cable and genuine Neutrik XLR AND TRS connectors.

Even the most affordable balanced 1/4 TRS cables will sound just fine. There are literally too many options out there to name.

No shit, I just buy packs of Seismic Audio ones off Amazon, or run over to Monoprice's store 5 minutes away heh.. They work the same as an overpriced gold plated made from unicorn jizz Monster/Mogami/Canare/whoever cables. They're all going to die one day, why throw $50 away when you can spend $10. If its time to recable everything, like Charles said, grab a big spool of some decent shielded cable, a bunch of Neutrik jacks, and have a field day with it. If you don't rearrange things a lot, you can make your own custom lengths and tidy that shit up nice and neat!

I got cables, amps, speakers and other unheard-of accessories from them. Cheap but above average quality.

I hear a lot about goldplated cables, but unless your entire setup and its components were all engineered in gold, you'll be wasting money on a myth.

Pighog is another quality cable maker I use. Thick threaded cables and hard to bend.

100%. The only difference between the High and Low is the shielding of the cable and the quality of the connectors. Studios do not buy off the shelf cables because the prices would be outrageous. They build them to certain lengths, patch everything, and rarely do they remove them from gear. That's what a patch bay is for.

If a person uses 10 out and 4 in, on the MPC X using Mogami Gold it would cost $700+. Don't forget to have the turntables rewired with the same cable as well. All EURO rack guys with a large modular setup, understands this as well. Buying the modular unit is cheap, compared to buying the proper length cables. It's crazy how many cables they go through.

Studio tip: To keep dust out of your gear connectors buy JACKCAP!

I just spent $50 for 14 two-footers a couple days ago. I already have a full hanger of them on the wall but somehow you always need MORE of them. I bet Ive spent just as much on patch cables as about half of what I spent putting my rack together hah.
