SD card not showing up in 'Places'

Hello,

I have had my One for a few months now. When I bought it I also grabbed a San Disk Extreme Plus 64 GB SD Card just to have somewhere to dump a few samples/projects.

The SD Card used to show up in Browse/Places window. Just recently turned the MPC on for the first time in a month or so and the SD Card doesn't show up. Nothing. It's like it's not loaded.

I didn't have anything on it I care about saving, but would like to start using it. Should I buy a new one? Re-format? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd run a diagnostic on it before you reformat it... just to see if it got corrupted somehow... should be able to do that on the computer.

Save whats on the SD Card to your computer...Then ReFormat the SD Card. See if that works

If it's worked previously, and re-formatting fixes it, assume it will be a temporary fix as that would normally indicate a failing disk. I've never known refomatting to permanently fix anything like this, disk always fails soon after. Disk disappearing could also indicate a bad SD drive port, or power issues (port not receiving enough juice). Most likely bad disk though.

I didn't have anything saved that I really wanted to keep, so I loaded it in my laptop and reformated the disk. Put it back in the MPC and shows up again. Not sure what that was all about, but at least it works.

Now I'm kind of hesitant to save anything on it I value in case it's a bad card. May just go buy an new larger one to be safe.

happend to me, after i ejected the mpc sd card from computer, i could solve it by putting the mpc in controller mode, go to Device manager find the mpc under universal serial busses, then deactivate it, restart your pc while mpc is still in controller mod, then activte the mpc in manager again, if it works the sd card should pop back up.
