Bug on MPC 2.9? Plugin Track level effects Program level

Hey folks
As we all know the program level effects all tracks that have that same program. However if i ajust the track midi level it only effects the very track.

Not so in Plugin-Mode. If change the track-midi level then all the other tracks with the same plugin-program also change.

Is that a bug or any other reason?

Don’t use same plugin on diff tracks using same program number.

ALWAYS use a diff program number.

Trk 1, bassline, program 1.
Trk 2, bassline, program 1.
Trk 3, bassline, program 1.
Wrong. Changing program 1 will affect all these tracks.

Trk 1, bassline, program 1.
Trk 2, bassline, program 2.
Trk 3, bassline, program 3.
Correct. Changing program 1 will only affect program 1 and trk 1.

thanks @lampdog for your quick reply. But i'm not changing the program itself, i'm actually only changing the midi track level and it changes the track level for all the other track using the same plugin. strange behaviour since this isn't the same on the other track-modes.

Maybe you need to provide more details of what you are doing?

For me... MPC Firmware 2.9, in standalone...

Track 01 (kick) - Program 01
Track 02 (snare) - Program 01
... reducing the velocity on one track does not impact the velocity of the other

Track 03 (tube synth C2 notes) - plugin 01
Track 03 (tube synth C3 notes) - plugin 01
... reducing the velocity on on track does not impact the velocity of the other

I believe this is how you expect it to work for either a Program or a Plugin... but I'm not quite sure how you are setup or what the difference might be.

yeah but no. there is a reason why we have tracks and programs: cpu, workaround
it works on all program-types but not on plugin

If 2 tracks use Tubesynth Plugin under Program 1. When you lower the volume in the Program Mixer or the Midi track mixer, the volume will effect all Tubesynth tracks that use Program one.

Track 1 Tubesynth Program 1
Track 2 Tubesynth Program 1

If you want to avoid that, do like @lampdog said and create a new plugin program of Tubesynth for each track, in order to control each track separately.

Track 1 Tubesynth Program 1
Track 2 Tubesynth Program 2


As for the reason: The mixer layout was not created by someone who actually uses a mixer everyday. Because no one who uses a mixer, would create such a convoluted mixer layout.

Example. Midi Track pans do not effect the Program Pans (Plug in, Drum, etc.) In order to Pan the Program, you have to go to the program mixer and pan them there. :nod:

which firmware are you running on?

try this:

Track 1 Program Plugin 1 Tubesynth Default
Track 2 Program Plugin 1 Tubesynth Default

Try to change the velocity of Plugin 1: Obviously it changes both Tracks
Try to change the velocity of Track 1: It oddly changes the velocity of both tracks, allthough the midi data should be independent
