Downbeat Kit "Grit" for the other expansion packs?

I've got the four acoustic drum expansion packs MPC-Tutor put out, and they're terrific. Each pack has various kits in a range of styles, but only The Downbeat Kit has one marked "Grit"...kinda extra compressed sounding, crispy transients, a bit of vinyl noise. It's my favorite in the whole acoustic bundle. Any chance of getting "Grit" kits for the other packs? Or a tutorial on how you achieved this effect? Thanks!

The sound for the grit kit was accomplished via a combination of internal FX, tuning and filter. You can view the FX via CHANNEL MIXER > PROGRAMS > INSERT. There's three FX inserted across the program (decimator, mpc3000, compressor opto) - just double tap the insert to see the settings.

The whole program is tuned down -2 via PROGRAM EDIT > MASTER. Plus there's a small amount of 'MPC' low pass filter applied to each pad, just to take a little bit off the top end.

Perfect!! Thank you, I'm new to Live and was looking in the wrong place for the effects. Is it possible to copy a whole effects chain or should I try to replicate the settings manually?

Just wanted to report that this worked great—I made "Grit" kits for the other three expansions, copying these settings with slight variations. The vinyl noise I thought I was hearing was just the high noise floor on the Downbeat samples getting enhanced by the effects. I might try to bring in some crackling on the other kits too. These sound really terrific, thanks again

Another option beyond saving the effects chain is to just replace samples in the program... there's a few different ways to approach the problem... but just wanted to point out that you can load/assign samples over existing pad assignments... and then do <Main> <folder icon> <purge> <purge unused samples> to get rid of the content that you replaced.

If you're feeling really adventurous you can open the xpm file in a text editor and literally copy and paste the FX section of the code into another xpm file.
