My Workaround for that...I just bought a Maxed Windows XP tower for my Old VSTi's and the 4000 Aksys software. (Cheap too lol)

The 4000 is Pretty solid to me. These New MPCs spoiled me with the Touch Screen lol. Thats all the 4000 Needs lol

It's a name i assign to people who never shut up about covid. i realise its real and that it kills i believe its not a great thing, i just dont need it pumped in my face and ears from every angle like im linda lovelace in a 1970s porno. Theres no need to read into it and make innaccurate delusional assumptions about my stance on the dangers of covid. .

It's all good - thanks for clarifying. Back to your regular programming! :)

The 4000, 2000 and 60 MPCs I never owned and keep hearing great things about them. I’ve owned every other MPC after that.

Some guys have managed to connect external sound cards to get more channels.
Very recent post in the fb group.

I meant more about the audio layer on the MPC. If it's a stripped down Linux, we could run SuperCollider or a headless PureData patch and interface with the MIDI - or even make SuperCollider or Pd a valid MIDI port on the MPC software. The One Electronic Music Box :smoker:

I can not access Facebook, do you plan to move your work and discussion on a less antagonizing platform ? I don't judge, just asking !!

Despite all the other things., FB group is at least free.
All the work is whatever on the github. As an alternative , you can open discussion "issues" directly on the github : https://github.com/TheKikGen/MPC-LiveXplore/issues

has anyone done video's showing the vocal effects for this firmware?
not finding anything so far on a youtube search.

Nobody because they aren't in the binary, like other new synths plugins. Akai will add them in a next release. They have no choice regarding what NI has done with Maschine+... It's a very serious competitor to our MPC. (Linux too  ...)

It's buildroot! lol! buildroot on a rockchip board. It's not a stripped down environment as much as one thats built to run 3d on framebuffer. It's got busybox, inetutils, wpa_supplicant, libinput, some xinput libs for the keyboard, alsa and egl and all the wonders of a normal embedded environment, you could set up an arm7 chroot with apt and fetch a toolchain. The sky is the limit development-wise.

On a side note, I have my suspicions other sibbling devices software would run atop the mpc platform. There are quite a few other devices inmusic uses the rk2388 stuff in. I wouldn't be surprised if that software resided in the same buildroot environment. Like, I'm thinking maybe the denon prime dj software could operate on our mpc units. inMusic seems to like "juce", "soul-lang" and buildroot. I assume they have a limited team of developers. I want to take a peek inside some other firmwares.

Really?! there are some little bugs with the firmware I posted, I've made a far less buggy version since then. I will upload it when I get some time hopefully it fixes the issue for you. I purposely set the screen orientation because on my device the force screen was rotated 90°. There are some other crazy bugs as well like if you go to the song sequencer thing via hot keys and twist the knob it crashes the app. Also in that firmware I posted the force settings are completely missing lol. I'll upload in a day or two.

You guys wanna know something crazy? You can clone A number of inmusic hardware devices to a $130 (cad) soc you can purchase from amazon. This board will run all the inmusic rk3288 roms. https://www.amazon.ca/Tinker-Board-Quad ... 005&sr=8-1

The denon sc5000 and (m)
The denon sc6000 and (m)
MPC One, X, Live
Force (and force 6 when it comes out)

if you know how to use linux and are into arm soc's you can just make your own units.
