Yeah, there's no MPC Software for the iPad... so while you can use the MPC as an audio interface/storage device in controller mode... there isn't much else you can do with it. Good trick in a pinch when you need those things on the iPad, but you're definitely not going to get the full experience out of it.

aye.. but the USB audio drivers appear to be universal/compliant and IOS connects to all the USB i/o's of the mpc. It looks like I can send and return audio to the iPad (and all those great fabfilter and eventide fx & mastering tools, synths etc..), but is can't be used because the touch screen is dead, searching for the software on mac/pc.

What these appears to mean, that possibility of the MPC being used on the iPad, if it was decided upon by AKAI/Devs, could fairly easily happen..

while possible, Akai has never mentioned any intent to port the MPC Software 2.x to the iOS/iPadOS that I am aware of.

What you are seeing is just that it's working as designed. The MPC was implemented as a USB class compliant device when running in controller mode, so anything that supports class compliant storage, audio, or midi will be able to use it as any of those devices.

Sort of.. Class compliance was thrown in so it will work across the board, but they still need to make the actual MPC software for iOS to use it. The phones and tablets follow spec like MacOS, so they should be able to use anything class compliant, but whether the devs made their special software or want you to run it on iOS is another story..

Thats why folks can get it to show up in Big Sur on an M1 Mac, but controller mode is a no go until they update the driver for that part of it.
