The speakers of my Live2 are OK and the only thing I miss is a button for direct access to PROG EDIT. Other than that I love being able to transport it to a studio or using it on the couch.

If you have the Bread...Go ahead and get the Live 2. This way you'll have the Best of Both Worlds. You can Take the Live 2 with you, anywhere on the Planet. Create Sh*t while you're out and about. Then Transfer Tracks to the X.
I get un-inspired sitting in the Home Studio for long periods of time. Pull the Live 2 out, go in the Living Room, Kitchen, On the Toilet, in the Car, at ya Man house, etc.

I think like a MPC. A program is a tool. If the sculpture don't look right, Don't blame the chisel..

i ordered a live 2 and i have an x. i know i shouldnt of, but.... i couldnt help it this time. i actually do like the live 2 retro edition.
im happy with these machines and actually dont need much more.

Unless you absolutely want the portability that the Live 2 offers, then yes - it is a complete waste of money (and this is coming from a long-time Live owner who started out with the Touch, then the first Live, and now on the Live 2). I absolutely love my Live 2, but if I didn't need to take it out of the studio often and throw it in a bag, I would have gotten the X and stopped there.

It’s all marketing that makes you think you need both. You don’t.
If you needed the Live 2 because you make beats on the move than you wouldn’t need the X. But you have the X which probably means you don’t need to be mobile. There’s other cheaper alternatives if you absolutely need to make music on the go.
