hello,
warmup:
i am building a template for my whole setup with 3 synths and a drumbrute impact, volca drum and model:cycles. mpc one is meant to be the brain and sequencer. and even with the help of the great mpc bible i don't get forwared with configuring the mdidi programs for drums. i struggle with pad perorm, scales, note triggering on the drum machines.
setup:
midi-instruments only, connected via usb-midi-router esi m4U-ex on the mpc one. 1 track + 1 program per drum machine instrument (8 for the drumbrute e.g.). (and every synth voice of the other machines = 40 programs/tracks).
problem:
i want to sequence the drum machines alongside the synths. for the volca bass synth e.g. the pad scale need to start at c-1 to have the whole octave range. for the drum machines this means switching between the pad banks and searching for the right pads. and i can not even colour code them (not possible for midi tracks...).
trials:
a) i learned, that the pad perform mode (note, chromatic, etc.) is a global setting and not per-program. so i can not adjust every pad scale individually (why is this so?)
b) i tried edit pad map in the drumbrute program and e.g. set c#-2 for one instrument of the drumbrute. but this does not trigger the note (like before in chromatic setting).
what do i do wrong?
what can i change to switch between the tracks without searching for the triggers for drum machines all the time? and lit pads would be fine as well...
thanks for any help!
