Live jams sample play

MPC One user

With a drum track,
I go to menu>track edit>sample play.

I see "one shot" and "note on".
Is there a toggle setting for pad playback?
So I can turn off samples that are too long, while I am in this mode, during live jams?

You could setup a mute group to choke a long playing sample.

Program Edit => Main Tab, Poly/Mono (Cut off long notes for the Whole Program)
Program Edit => LFO/Modulation Tab Poly/Mono (Cut off long Notes for the Active Pad)

Thank you. Found the proper verbiage to search a video, too.

I understand, a pad in the mute group can be set to poly, but being in the same "mute group" CHANNEL, another pad in the mute group can choke it.
And in "pad polyphony" for individual pads, you can even set a particular pad to play a number of times before it chokes itself.

Sometimes I get lucky and know what I am talking about
