MPC Live record and playback midi cc

Hey folks,
my question is: Is it possible to record midi-cc to a certain. E.g. Midi out of my yamaha DM1000 to record fader-moving. And playback that recordings . Kind regards Arne

Hi Yorgos, you may have a hint. If I connect my DM1K midi in/out with my live, program a track and give them all the correct midiconnection. After that i hit record, move my faders. But on playback only senseless things on my desk happen. Regards Arne

Your question is kind of like ‘can I put gas in a car’ Sure you can do it, but we have no idea how you have everything hooked up.

Can you describe in detail how you have connected your MPC Live to your DM1000?

My guess would be that you have not hooked up both the midi in and midi out cables correctly, or that you need to adjust settings in the properties menu for midi.

On the main menu of the mpc, do you see the midi in box in the top middle of the screen blink white when you move your dm1000 fader?

Yes ok, i´ll try to describe the setup more clear:

MPC Live 1 Firmware 2.9.0

MPC Live-MidiOut B is connected to Midi-In DM1K
Midi-Out DM1K is connected to Midi-In 2 MPC



DM1K Midi-Settings:
Midi-TX/RX-Channel: 15
Control-Change/ Parameter Change on

Control-Assign: Default Mode Table

MPC:
Miditrack: Channel 15
Midi-Port(Midi-Program): MPC B

Programchange is running fine

I see Midi-Input flashingin the Main-Window and in the List-Editor also CC-Files
But I see no Data in Grid-Editor, also nothing is happening on Playback.

If i program something in Grideditor to the extracted Midi-CC read from the List-Editor, it also works fine.
But Recording doesn´t work.
If I record the Midi-Out of the Desk to Cubase everything is working properly.
Thats because I thought, that the MPC can´t record that stuff.

I don't have a DM1k... my fear is that the fader is sending Sysex instead of Midi CC... the MPC doesn't record Sysex info.

Do you happen to know?

My suggestion is to check the manual, and see if you can set it to use Sysyx vs Midi CC.
