MPC Live Limited Midi-CC-Commands per Track

Hello There,

are there any limitations on the number of Midi-CCs used in one track at the same time?

I tried to record Mutes and Fadermoves step by step in "Overdub" / "Merge" Mode, but the second cycle kills the previous.

Hi Lampdog,

thats clear, in that case it´s a Yamaha DM1000, which should be remoted, so its not possible to split that on separate tracks.
But what I interprete from your post: There is a limitation.

think about it : at any moment in time/your sequence/track, the MPC listens/records your MIDI cc
if recorded one/once, then how should it react during overdub when you move or not move a control ?
(during that same moment you recorded earlier)
you can use the step sequencer to input controls
or you can use the LIST EDIT to skip/FF to edit & insert like that

Seperate midi channels for seperate tracks if using a different device for input. main midi keybed/input chan 1, drums chan 10, then you can use the others from , 1-16 as you see fit. Then in merge mode each device will record its own automation. When usb midi stuffs everything on channel 1 they all interfere with one another and your cc's stay mapped to the single input event regardless of your position in the user interface.

What are you guys new?! haha i kid i kid but yeah. Each instrument gets assigned to listen to a specific device and channel (in the track menu) and each input device assigned to said channels.

We can run 16 instruments and controllers simultaneously in theory in or out bound.
