I have an MPC One that is connected via USB to my MIDI keyboard (Nektar Impact), and an ASM Hydrasynth that is connected to the MPC's MIDI Out port.

I have two tracks - one for the synth/keyboard, and one with a drum kit. I want to play drums with the MPC pads while the MIDI keyboard controls the synth.

By default the MIDI keyboard just controls whatever the active track is. So if the drum track is active, then that means that the MIDI keyboard will play drums by default, and will only play the Hydrasynth if the synth track is open. So I used the instructions here to set it so that the drum track has MIDI input set to "None" and the synth track Monitor is set to "Merge" instead of "Auto" (so that the keyboard will play the synth even when the drum track is active).

This works fine for the most part. When I have the drum kit as the active track, I can still play the synth via the MIDI keyboard. But if I press the Latch button on the MPC while playing drums, it overrides the MIDI settings and suddenly the keyboard will start controlling the drum kit instead of the synth. When I disable latch, it goes back to the keyboard controlling the synth.

How do I fix this so that latch doesn't switch the MIDI keyboard input to the drum track?
