MPC One as a slave with Cubase

Hi to everyone,this is my first post in this forum,if anyone will response many thanks.
I have a problem,that i cant set up my MPC One as a slave with Cubase,in the Cubase i have all set up right (it working good mpc 500).What i want?I want to control my MPC one from Cubase via 5pin Midi cable,basic function,i want tu press start in Cubase and I want the MPC One start at the same time and record audio from MPC One to Cubase,but cant set upo MPC One for this.Many thanks

You can find the official Akai user manual by logging into your Akai account; Or, with no login you can see the manual at:

Products > MPC Series > MPC Hardware

Then, select your hardware (i.e. MPC One) and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. There you will see some downloads (firmware and manuals).

Once it opens the PDF, you can navigate to "File > Save" (or similar) to keep a copy in your downloads.

Note: On the site, the file is listed as "MPC Standalone-UserGuide-v2.10 (67.89 MB)", though when you save it the file is called "MPC Touch and Standalone-UserGuide-v2.10"

As mentioned by others, the reason you want to see the manual is to learn what all the buttons do on the MIDI/SYNC screen. So, do read the section on pg. 79 talking about the sync options, then read the section I mention below as well about the features added in 2.8 for MIDI (important to read even though we are on 2.10 now).

The way Akai documents new features is by adding a section called "Updates in MPC" and then the <release number>". So, the section called "Updates in MPC 2.8" has a bunch of MIDI features that were added at that time. This is the section to read and understand (page 410).

Note: You can learn this from older manuals such as 2.9.x, but the page numbers will be different.

I use Logic Pro, but the concept should be the same for your DAW.

First, check your version from "Menu > Gear Icon > Info" and make sure it is not still "2.7.1" (this is old and how many units are still shipped). If needed, update to a minimum of 2.9.1 firmware, or ideally the latest 2.10 firmware.

Setup
You will be "stand-alone mode", so remove the Akai-provided USB cable first (the Akai USB cable is only used for Desktop and Plugin not stand-alone).

1. Connect the MIDI DIN to the MPC
2. On the MPC, navigate to "Menu > Gear Icon > MIDI/SYNC"
3. Optionally, name your DIN connections with a friendly name here
4. Set your DAW project to send MIDI "Clock" through your DIN Connection

Note: In your DAW settings, never choose anything that says "MPC" for your sync connection (only choose the name of your 5-pin DIN).

5. On the MPC, set the "Sync Receive" to "MIDI Clock". This allows your DAW to start the MPC
6. Optionally, set the "Sync Send" to "MIDI Clock". This allows your MPC to start the DAW. You might want to scroll up to "Output Ports" and click the "Sync" box for your DIN output.

Tip: Ignore MMC settings, and ignore MTC Frame Rate near the bottom of the page (these are for MIDI Time Code which is slightly more complex than MIDI Clock).

7. Set your tempo in the DAW and the MPC to be the same (required for MIDI Clock, or optionally use MTC which is more complex).

8. Now your DAW can start the MPC, or your MPC can start the DAW.

9. When recording, you will hit play start in the DAW to record in from the TRS cables coming out of the MPC.
