MPC-One MIDI Out cable not working

HI,
I just bought an MPC-One and updated it to the latest 2.10 firmware; then while testing it I'm not able to make the MIDI output working:

- if I connect an external device via USB, then I see it in the MIDI output list, and I'm able to send notes to the device (pressing the pads) and everything is fine

- but if I use a standard MIDI cable (I tested two of them), connect the device using the output MIDI plug of the MPC and select the "MPC" as MIDI output in the MIDI program nothing is transmitted.
I also changed the channel number, and even connected it to a USB MIDI interface and use MIDI-Ox on a PC to see if something is transmitted. In the track when I press a pad I see the level bar, but no note is transmitted. In the MIDI out debug monitor of the MPC the MIDI messages are listed correctly (note on - note off).

Am I missing something, or has my MPC an hardware issue?

yes it was an hardware issue, I replaced the MPC-One (under warranty) and the "new" one works as expected.

Good job troubleshooting and sorry we missed this one.

It would have been interesting to see if the bad MPC failed the interactive diagnostics available from:

[Pad Bank A] + [PLAY] + [PLAY/START] + [Power On]

I have exactly the same issue here with my new MPC X!

I tried it once more, suddenly it works, don't know why.

Same here! Brand new MPC Live 2. Midi was working fine. I then did 2.10 Update. No more midi OUT 5din on either ports A + B. Firmware diagnostics show midi as functioning correctly. I've contacted Akai support but as it is less than a week old, I have sent back for a replacement. Kinda worried about doing the update on the replacement now though.

I wonder how common this might be, as I suspect many people never even use the MIDI din ports now that USB midi is supported.
