MPC LIVE - Not enough memory to load samples - STANDALONE

I have a 5gb project on mpc app (project contains samples and kits, set up for a live set) .. Is there anyway to open the project in stand alone mode? I've tried usb stick and sd card. reformatted and put the project and its data on the card. I plug the card into my mpc live, it appears under browser, I load my project, and it says, "not enough memory to load samples.".. System resources also letting me know, the memory is low. Is it because the mpc only has 2gb of ram? & if so, any work arounds would be appreciated<3

Have you purged all unused samples in controller mode, also as a rule if I've got programs left over after chopping samples to a new program I delete the original programs too.. are you using lots of keygroups? If so I would suggest bouncing the keygroup tracks to audio..

Yes, storage is irrelevant, it's the RAM that limits what you can actually load into a project. The same would be true on your computer if your project exceeded the available RAM on your computer. The MPC has approx 1.1GB of RAM available for sampling, but this assumes 32 bit samples. If you are using 24 bit samples you probably have around 800MB to play with, or at 16 bit only around 600mb. You can do a number of things to reduce the size of a project, but I suspect at 5GB you'll always struggle to fit it into a standalone MPC.

Purge unused samples (MAIN > Project folder icon > PURGE) - this removes any sample from the project that is not assigned to a program
Use mono instead of stereo samples
Make sure your samples are properly 'tailed' (discard empty space etc)
Remove samples from programs which are not actually used (e.g. if a kit contains 64 samples but you only use 4 of them in the track, 'unassign' those samples from the unused 60 pads and then purge)

But realistically you should about splitting the project into multiple smaller projects. In a live set you could trigger a separate device (e.g. sampler, synth etc) to play some kind of drone or similar, this will give you time to load up the next project.

Loading an entire liveset in a single project is still an utopia.
Maybe when Mpc will have 16gb of Ram or disk streaming but at the moment the best solution is to split the project in multiple smaller projects and put some samples on another device so you can fill the gap while loading a new project.

a used SP-404sx for triggering long samples, or a cheap ipad (>32gb) with an app that supports disk streaming ,alongside with your mpc
Cheapest option is using the software and your mpc live on controller mode
at some point (maybe less than a year) disk streaming will come (first on Force I assume)

sorry but no, i played 1 and an half hour livesets on older mpc's (4000, 1000, 2500)... you can perform even longer sets with these new machines, only thing is you have to find your workarounds and optimize the use of memory. mono samples wherever possible, no long samples etc... but you can definitely perform an entire set with an mpc.
