Gated Samples

Hey all, what's up
I have an MPC ONE that's become my hub for a variety of other gear after replacing my Octatrack with it and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I was about to set up something like this example bellow on other gear.

Does anyone know how I could achieve this with MPC standalone?

Here a sample is started running the full length then sent through a LPG or VCA/ Filter + Envelope controlled by a trigger to make the free running sample is audible and then fade out after each press.

Has the filter gate gotten you close?

Thanks Richard, didn't know that existed. It looks like it only has fixed patterns but I'll definitely use Filter Gate for something in the future.
Being relatively new to MPC I was hoping to learn some way of associating a step sequence with this effect so I could play the rhythm and maybe even pipe the velocity into another parameter.

Is there possibly a way to have a pad act as a trigger for an effects parameter or would that require an external midi device?

I tried using mother ducker but that seems to requires having an audible sample associated with the gate and is doing the opposite effect where it turns off the long sample on each trig.

You can do stuff like that on the force but not on the MPC as of yet. But you can use mother ducker and ghost tracks to create a rhythmic gate. Your input track only has to be audible to mother ducker and not your outputs.There are also other fx like stutter and pumper and probably a few others that have ways to gate. You would just create a preset then load it when and where you need it. You should really explore all the plug ins thoroughly because a lot of them can do more than just what their name implies.

And don't forget you can automate all of the efx, so you are not just confined to what the preset can do alone.
