They couldn’t remove the Mpc Studio Black (original version) . They said I could still sell it and and the new user will be able to add it to their akai even though the serial sits on my account. That’s so silly.
Thats how their system works. There is no 'de-registering' your unit once you add it to your account its there. If you sell it, the new owner can enter in the same serial number and register it just fine. Ive never heard of anyone getting a 'too many registrations' messages yet though so I guess there is a limit. Thought that was weird myself, but whatever its their stuff. When I got my Studio years ago, the owner I bought it from posted pictures of the serial in the ad online, I registered it as soon as I paid for it so I could download the 2.0 software and get a head start on it.
@Neurone, thats an iLok key, thats not an Akai serial number. You're supposed to login to the iLok license manager and deactivate your licenses for ANYTHING that uses iLok when you switch computers. Thats how iLok works, its tied to the hardware you are using it on, and if you forget to deactivate your old hardware, thats not their fault. Arturia's copy protection got cracked years ago, even the brand new SQ80 was out in the wild as soon as it was released. Why would anyone in the business of software copy them?
