MPC X hangs during pad play

Here's a weird one. When I do a fast manual roll on a pad, the MPC X hangs and then rights itself. It doesn't crash, it just suspends so that nothing works for about 3-5 seconds. Anyone experience this behavior?

I bet you are in the grid editor, yes?

If you play quickly in the grid editor while "Hitting pad selects all events" is turned on, the UI will sometimes hang briefly, especially on longer busier tracks. Sometime it can hang for a half hour or more.

Nope, just on the Main page. The only thing I can think of is that if the sample is in oneshot mode and has a little length to it, and other things are happening also, I’m maxing out the MPC’s polyphony. If that’s the case, I wish voices would just cut out rather hang the whole system.
