Apologies if this has been addressed. If the answer is already posted somewhere here, that would be great. If not, I really appreciate your help.

I'm in CHOP mode, I have x number of slices made, let's say 4, automatically laid onto pads 1 through 4. I want to add a slice between pads 1 and 2, and I want the new slice on pad 2, in the order it appears in the sample. When I add a slice, whether with the pencil tool or with the SLICE+ button, the new slice is number 5 and assigned to pad 5. However, I want that slice to be slice 2, on pad 2, and I want all subsequent slices to shift to the next pad.

Why it doesn't do this automatically, I am not sure. I understand the benefit of being able to add slices out of order, but don't understand why it's the default. When I DELETE a slice, all the numbers shift back one, so when I add a slice out of order, I want all the numbers to shift forward. There must be a simple way to do it that I'm missing.

Yes...depending on where the Cue is, it'll add a Slice Point there. When I wanna add a Slice in Between Slices, Lets say between Slices 3 & 4, I'll play Slice 3 and hit any Empty Pad while its playing. It'll Put a Slice Where ever the Play Marker Cue is at.

In case anyone is out there messing with this, the answer seems to do with whether or not LINK SLICES is active. With LINK SLICES on, new slices occupy pads in order. With LINK SLICES off, new slices can be added out of order.
