Reco for app to use iPad as Midi controller

Hi,

I know there is a topic on apps to use with MPC but they are mainly recommendations for "synth" type of apps if I can put it this way.

I am looking for recommendations for iOS app that turn your iPad into a midi controller. More to control the keys than to send Midi CC (but that could be a plus). Ideally, an app that has scales, chord progressions, arpeggiators, etc...

Lk by imaginando sound like it fits the bill for your use case, it's free to download with IAP to unlock specific features like midi pads, keyboards, chords etc which is handy imho as you only pay for the stuff you need.. they als do a synth app called DRC that's can do midi out and Incorporates scales and chords.. btw if you're planning on doing this via Bluetooth be warned there's a degree of latency present with midi timings

I understand the arp as the stock one is a bit borish. But why scales and progressions? The pad perform mode covers those pretty well.

Pad perform and arp are good, but adding another controller (iPad or Midi keyboard) adds flexibility, like having chords triggered by MPC pads in pad perform mode and keys triggered by iPad (or another midi keyboard). You can also have the controller linked to a specific track. Agree that I rarely use the iPad and prefer working with just the MPC, but more controllers can be useful.
