Loaded instruments not showing in keygroup

Getting started with MPC, and can't figure this out:

I have created a new track (for bass), then tapped 'instruments', then loaded a number of bass sounds. But, when I go to scroll through the loaded samples under keygroup programs, there is nothing there, just Program 002 and so on.

However if I go to reload the same samples, it says 'the sample exists' .

What am I missing?

You may have to Manually assign the samples to the Keygroup Programs?

How exactly is this done?

You are only loading the samples, not the instruments. The instruments are the xpm files. Select the programs filter in the browser to view available instruments
