Mpc one newbbie

Good morning everybody I am new to the forum in new to the MPC one I have used Mocs in the past I had to 2000xl And the 1000. With that being said I’ve have a couple of newbies probably ridiculous questions about working with the MPC one. First question is can I save expansion packs and sounds on an external SSD hard drive connected to a USB hub. The second question is to do with the ethernet port does it have to be connected to a router or can I connect it to the back of my Mac mini and use it that way. I know these may be some stupid questions but please bear with me thanks again

Second Question: connect it to your router

You can connect it to directly to your Mac, but I suspect since you're asking you don't know enough about networking to do this correctly.

You'll need a different type of ethernet cable, intended for a direct computer to computer connection, and you'll need to hard code all of your TCP/IP settings. I'm not going to bother going over it any deeper because, as Tutor is stating... you're better off just connecting directly to your router so that it all works properly on your existing network.
