MPC One with external synth export

What's up people,

I have the MPC One connected to my FA06 and everything works great. I can make a beat using drums with the MPC and other instruments from the fa06. The confusion comes in when I try to get everything dumped into Logic for mixing. I've tried using the MPC software in Logic but it doesn't play the midi notes from the fa06.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this. I overall want to make a beat using the MPC and the fa06 then dump the stems into Logic for mixing. What will be the best way to do this?

Are you using the MPC One in controller or standalone mode?

MIDI is not audio.

If you are using an external synthesizer then you need to record the audio going out of that external synthesizer. period.

Just like if you were singing along a MPC sequence. Your voice isn't going to magically show up in logic. You need to record the sound of your voice. Well an external synthesizer is no different.

I know about this. I have the fa audio going into the mpc and the audio out of the mpc coming out to my monitors. I need a workflow to have my stems to be exported into Logic to mix.

You can record the audio into the looper, then convert it to a program and assign it to a pad to then trigger at the beginning of your sequence. Basically sampling. Using that method you can then export your tracks using the software (or save it to SD then transfer to your pc). Drop them into logic for further arrangement

So, completely in standalone (or controller mode if you prefer), plug the FA06 outputs into your MPC inputs and then record the output of FA06 into audio tracks in your project. The rest of the tracks (e.g. plugins, drum, keygroup, clip) can be converted to stems via audio mixdown (select 'explode tracks') - this doesn't work from song mode though, you'll need to convert to a sequence first.

Like MPC tutor, I think audio tracks is the best way to capture audio from a drum machine/synth. You can set the record length with the widget at the top. Just make sure the BPM is still good

The problem was I wasnt sure how to convert the midi to audio in standalone to be dumped into Logic for mixing. Hope that clears it up
