I want to connect my mpc live 2 to ableton as a midi control surface, so as to be able to use the pads on the device to jam up some fresh grooves. When I get it set up as a midi device using controller mode, the midi registers in general midi drum format which puts the notes all over the place, and makes using it correctly impossible. In addition to this, I have no been able to use Ableton's midi mapping feature to be able to control the note map to correct this problem.
I have read that a "Midi Control Script" for the mpc live 2 may correct this, but I haven't had any luck finding one after an evening of searching both the usual engines and also the forums. Thought it was time to take it the brotherhood, see what might could be cook'd up.
Do I just need to abandon this and write my loops and stuff in the mpc and export them manually? It seems like this would be one of the main things that the mpc live (as in Ableton Live) would do natively, but it is not listed as a control surface in Ableton eleven, and I am just having no luck with this. So yeah- I appreciate your time and attention, bromigos.
peace.
p.s. have looked at have looked at https://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=207089&start=15 still no joy.
