This is weird I know. But is there a way to record whatever is being previewed in Sample Edit?

I've tried using the Looper, switching the inputs to resample R & L, but no luck. I'm guessing the Sample Edit preview isn't routed to any of the inputs.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I thought looper hack would work there as well, but when entering Sample or Program edit looper stops recording (or the input changes) - good find!
AFAIK there is no other way around it, i'm not sure if any MPC allowed such thing ever even, but interesting workflow idea

BTW what was your idea for using it?

Hey HandThrow, thanks for the confirm. I was trying to get that digital sound Wink used in "Higher State of Consciousness."It's also like Neo's "analog scream turned digital" when he took the red pill. And it works and sounds great on the MPC. But for now I have to record it out to a little zoom, then sample it back in.

Are you listening AKAI ...? Please let us record from the Sample Edit screen.

Also, please give us a way to automate the Start or End point in Sample Edit. Because twisting Qlink knobs at a consistent rate is a bit sketchy. It would be awesome if we could tie the Start or End point to the BPM of the song, then just hit PLay. While porting the output to Sampler or Looper.

I can automate the Layers in the Offset Screen, in Program Edit. But you can only offset the Start Point slightly depending on the Length of the Sample

With sample start automation i think you can get more range of control if you pitch the sample up, resample it and then pitch down the resampled one and fiddle with offset on that one.

BUT!!!

I have a way of recording audio from sample edit for you my friend! As i've mentioned this approach is way outside of how MPC workflow ever was and i bet ever will be, but you can get it done by:
- connecting the main audio output to one of the inputs via a cable
- arm an audio track and set input to the one you plugged the out to
- disable clicks in recording mode
- start recording
- go crazy with sample edit page
- get sample from audio track

As long as monitoring is not enabled on the track it'll be good

BTW i'm stiil not getting exactly the approach so if you can send me a video (for example or instagram or youtube) of how you work with it and how it sounds it'd be sweet

Thanks for the idea ... so logical ! And I assume good way to quickly bounce a sequence as a song WITH manual tweaks on master FX and returns FX parameters , fully standalone :)
