I searched these on Google but I'm probably not wording it well so I'm not finding anything that's helping me. I did watch 4 YT videos on chopping and they didn't touch on what I'm trying to figure out. I'm barely a month into owning my One so please take it easy on me if these are basic ass questions lol.
I chopped a sample into 8 pads and recorded a program with it. Then I went back and added a few more chop points. When I play the track since adding the chops it was all screwy because when I recorded it the samples were on the previous pads, which makes sense to me. My 1st question, is there any way to, um, lock? the sample so let's say it's on pad 6 and moves to pad 8 when I add more chops. If I recorded it prior to the chop, when I add the new chops I'd like the sequence to update and move the notes that were on pad 6 to pad 8. I don't know if this is even possible, and I don't know if I explained it so anyone could even understand. Right now I'm either replaying the pattern with the new notes, or going into the sequence mode and manually moving the notes. Neither is that difficult, but I'm thinking this might be able to be automated somehow - maybe?
2nd question, I made a copy of a pad, and applied a few simple effects to the new one. But the effects also play on the original pad. I know I can made a seperate save of the sample on the new pad and have it be it's own and won't have that problem. But I don't know if this is the best method to do it. ATM I'm just trying to use built in basic stuff like reverse and fade out. I was kinda hoping it is so I could copy 1 sample to 16 pads and have different effects on each so I can hear the difference in real time. And saving each pad into a new sample seperatly seems like it's not going to be a efficient way to do this.
And YES, I plan to buy the MPC Bible in about a month, but I'm still on restriction from my lady due to me buying the MPC One and going way over the budget I told her. Originally I was going to buy the MPC Studio v2, which is much much cheaper, and that was what she expected me to spend not $900+tax lol. So no spending until April for me.
