I'm trying to trigger the sound assigned to a pad using a MIDI controller (MorningstarFX MC3 in this case). The idea is to use a pedal to trigger the bass drum sound on pad A01. I'm sending Note #1 on channel 10. On my LIVE II I can see what appears to be a signal on the drum program channel when I send the note number. It looks as though it SHOULD be making sound but it isn't. If I tap the actual pad the signal meter looks identical to when I send the MIDI note, but I hear the bass drum sound.

It would be really helpful to be able to assign the kick drum sound to a pedal, for a somewhat more natural way of playing the "drums".

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? The note number I'm sending is 0-C-1, although I have tried a number of other notes with the same results. I've tried this with drum programs and keygroup programs, such as a piano sound - no sound. For some reason it DOES work with a plugin channel on the same channel. I'm missing something, but I can't see what it is.

Thanks for any advice.

If you are sending MIDI note number 0, it is easy to use the main screen > drum program > pencil icon > Edit Pad Note Map > Chromatic C-2 button

I'd never noticed that! Thanks!

There is a lot to learn with this machine. But I now can trigger a kick drum with a foot pedal. That's gonna really help my bandmate.
