Does anyone else think the stock chords in Chord Mode are much better and more interesting in Maschine than MPC? There seem to be more bittersweet Blues/Gospel/Jazz chords available in Maschine. Has anyone tried to make the stock Maschine chord sets available as files for MPC? I would love that.

Maybe yes. Akai didn't put much effort in making a decent chord progression Library. However with the MPC you can make(or buy) your own chord progressions. The problem is it's kind of a painful process to make a substantial library so only a few exist. I believe if you search up Masada you will find chord progression expansion packs. His has a 75 per pack i think and he has about 4 or so for sale.

There are a few others but I won't even mention them because their packs are like 20-40 progressions, in my opinion is not worth 20-50 dollars they are selling it for. There are also a bunch of free packs floating around.

I'm working on a pack that will have 25000 progressions. I was hoping I could fit triple that in but the pad performance menu freezes up trying to populate the names over 30,000. I'm trying to have it finished up and polished before the new update.

Point is the MPC gives you a option that Machine doesn't. If you like Maschines chords, make a midi file from them then load that midi file in the MPC and then turn it into a chord progression and you can literally have every chord Maschine has.

I got sidetracked with different projects and didn't feel like it was clean enough to sell. Since you've been waiting I'll send you a dm.

So it can end up like ill-fated, now defunct, CR's beat camping?

Ok sorry for the loooong looooong wait but I think you'll find it worth it. I've been putting this together for years. I'll link it here since there's quite a few interested users.

The minor modes are quite excellent in my opinion. The major modes are not quite as fantastic or numerous as my soul is much too dark to dwell in happy modes. I may go back and sauce up the major modes at a later date if there is enough interest in this expansion. I had quite a spur of inspiration since this thread last popped up so I added lots of Soul and RnB and especially trap progressions. There is a massive amount of house progressions a good chunk of harmonic minor progressions and a smattering of jazz and blues.

As it stands there are a little over 24k sorted progressions. 7400 of them are in a sort of chord bank but the banks are set up in a way that can also be used as a phrase/progression. Some chords in the bank are also spread out across pads so you can strum and arpeggiate chords with pads.

I strongly advise to not load all the progressions at once as it will create a long delay when switching to and from pad perform mode. Also it was cause a very long boot up. If you want to explore all the progressions at once, then loading them together is fine as long as you are willing to wait through a long boot up and are not planning on switching back and for the to pad perform mode.
