little trouble

So I've been able to move samples from a USB drive and edit them- two things though-

Is there a chop like, set for 4 slices ect? I seem to have to extract the slices one at a time.

and saving. I want to save these files on the USB to the internal memory. Just having trouble with it... It seems to save all PGMs in memory. I just want to be organized but it keeps on confusing me.

just looked again. a total mess, unsure how to stay organized.

step by step pls....

Load PGM from USB
Save PGM to internal MPC One

also, is there a format/reset so the machine can be wiped to blank/empty? I would also wonder if I could delete all samples and pgms that come with the device.

Do not erase the internal contents.

To save a current sample, main screen > program row > pencil icon > press "save current sample" button.

in SAMPLE EDIT > CHOP, create all your slices, hold down SHIFT, CONVERT, then select 'New drum program using slices'.

If you then want to save just that program, go to MAIN, make sure that program is assigned to the current track. On the program row, press the pencil > save current program.

OK good to know. no formatting or deleting what came on the device.

Still scratching my head. The file system is not as logical as I remember old MPCs having.

Internal = can you save here? Or is this just for preset samples?

MPC Documents = This looks like a spot for saving PGMs and such from RAM. but I can't seem to exit a folder. also not clear on how to delete what is saved so I can get organized and start over.

MPC One = Is this the same thing as Internal?

MPC Demos = Never need this. . . .

Ah, figured out how to delete, just hold down shift-- also just found the trim/chop button. . .

I'm trying to figure out what else. . . Why isn't there a back button to get out of the folder you're in? I have to hit 'internal' and then back to USB and then dig through the folders again.

also- how do make a new program out of your slices? It just slices them but doesn't process it from what I see.

so- the mpc Documents file folder with an empty folder for PGMs for example, is that considered internal? or does all user data need to stay on the USB, or possibly a SD card?

so i'm still looking at this stuff. Think I got chopping down- and I have an SD that can browse when saving. I made a folder. But my problem is, I wanted to save just the PGM. I thought, I'll hit program edit, then shift/save, but it saves an XPJ instead of a PGM

also I was blind and I couldn't see the exit folder button in the top corner for some reason. Does the MPC ONE let you save individual programs? I had some from a MPC Studio Black and it doesn't show pgms, just XPJs. There's a drum kit PGM that I want to use and I can't figure out how to save it... anyway thanks for the help

this is pretty frustrating. I wanted to save the XPM of my drum kit in a seperate folder on the SD card. But there doesn't seem to be a 'new folder' button. And if I just go to the XPM and shift/save it doesn't let me save and choose where I'm saving it to.

I've been trying to start over and learn the correct way to do what I want to do, so I'm turning off the MPC ONE and starting over so I can be sure what is happening. I just accidentally saved a preset drum kit to a XPJ and I want to remove it from that project. Is there a way to do that?
