Just wanted to ventilate my appreciation for the MPC X. As soon as audio disk streaming will be implemented, this thing is the perfect DAW in hardware. Finally. Akai has done something amazing with this line of MPCs. Really. The MIDI sequencer, the CV outputs, the audio quality, the (Air) plugins quality, the hardware user interface, the audio I/O, the MIDI I/O, the sampler… the X is an incredible and unique tool that keeps you concentrated on making music.
Since I have the X in the studio, the computer has been turned off. I am recording audio on a RC-505 MK2 for the time being (because of the 5 minutes limit on the X), but what a blessing it is to NOT having to touch a mouse or being put off by computer distractions anymore in the creative process.

One of the reasons I use all my gear without computer.
I like to work/produce/concentrate on my gear only.

Im not the biggest computer fan but…….its not such a hassle to have the laptop turned on to compliment the hardware.Atho its nice not to have too…..Agreed the X is a great workstation, sounds full and i even like the effects.Im actually looking at the force now for more extended productions.
