move notes from one sequence to another

Yet again google isnt helping alongside my understanding of MPC terminology.
How do I move some notes from one sequence to another. Ive read there is no copy and paste just copy within the track your in.
Ive found in the manual selecting the notes and then press the pencil but im not offered "Copy Events" just clear, explode, double speed, half speed, split events, pitch, humanise, etc etc but no Copy Events
I find this amazing machine so very hard to understand after years of using a DAW.

Thanks for replying, im getting more and more frustrated as the info I need just isnt there.. All I want is to copy some snare notes and ive had to give up.

Ive sussed it, had no idea what 'Sequence Row' meant, I was in the Track Row as it seems they are called lolol

copy to clipboard from the MPC4000 seems such a cool feature now
(you could even save to clip(s) for re-use later)

You can easily move notes from one sequence to another within a project. If you don't want the whole track copied, just notes from your snare, if it's part of a whole kit being used - you can highlight only the snare notes.

Highlight the snare notes you want copied on the grid, if needed to isolate them. Go to Home view and click the pencil icon on the top right in the Sequence section. Click Events at the bottom. You have the option to copy all events or only selected events. Choose your sequences from and to and you're done.

I don't normally copy selected events but just tested it and it worked.

Or you can just lasso the notes you want in the grid, hit the copy button, go to your new sequence and then paste them right where you want them..

Copy-pasting notes is annoying because it only pastes to the current position. The copy events function is more useful.

Pasting notes in grid mode pastes at the playhead so if you want a more visual confirmation of where you are pasting it has its usefulness.. You can just fine tune your playhead with a qlink to put it on the exact beat super quickly. Or just paste it and then use the qlink to immediately nudge. I find this method more suitable for putting notes somewhere I am not exactly sure where I wanted them to go. With "copy events" you need to know exactly where you want to put them.

Same here. If you use the Shift+Copy command, you need to move the playhead where you want the notes to go. Just like you would in a DAW.

If you use the Copy button, it does an immediate paste right at the end of your selection when you want to quickly repeat patterns.

If you use Copy Events, well you know how that works too.

Not that difficult. It does the same shit everything else does, you just need to learn how to use it. Not everything is going to be a magic button that solves your problems for you, sometimes you actually have to put in the effort to learn how to use a tool.
