Hi Guys
Been working hard with my MPCX since I broke my leg and actually cant do anything else.
Ive written a track and wanted to have a drum buss, kick buss and bass buss as I always do in Logic Pro.
Is it correct that the buss as I call it is called Submix here, please correct me if im wrong.
Well I put all my carefully panned percussion/drums into Submix 2 and they all become Mono ????
Very few controls on the Submix page, even solo isnt there.
Please let me know if this is just how it is or if ive missed something.

Thanks
Lee

The submix has an effect on it?
Some effects are mono output only.

Thanks for the reply.
Nothing on the Submix. I have been doing this with headphones on, so it was super obvious. As soon as I assigned each thing they became dead centre one by one as I changed the routing.
Makes no sense at all. One by one as I restored them back the way they were the positioning returned.
Very odd....

Did you check the ROUTE tab of your submix ? Could be assigned to only one output and not a stereo pair ?

Also, I've noticed that I need to assign inserts FX to submix for them to work properly .. Maybe put a very light and "0 parameters" EQ plugin to check if it keep stereo after that ?

Just checked that, and it says output 1/2. I hadn’t considered that and in reality I’ve no clue what the routing tab does. If you could explain the point of that tab I’d be really grateful. And I can’t understand why these Submix tracks can’t be solo’d.
Thanks

Would you happen to have a project with a sample or two so we can load it up and see/help troubleshoot what you send us?

I have an MPC X os2.10.1 btw.

The route tab is available for each pads, programs , returns, submixes.. It is to route the signal to any physical output ( mono or stereo pair) of the mpc... Or to any submixes for pads and programs... Very useful for sibmixing and routing to 6 audio outputs of the mpc live..

Submixes seem inactive if there is no fx on it.. Try to put a " 0% wet" insert fx on your submixes and see if panning comes back

I’m putting all sorts of mono and stereo samples thru submix panning now with stereo and mono fx and it’s all reacting the way I expect so far. I’m not noticing anything out of the ordinary.

Without a step by step guide and / or a problem project to load IDK.

Hello Lampdog
Sorry for the delay in my reply.
I’ve created a new small project to send to you but what do you know. The perc is all staying stereo when sent to the submix. Typical.
The project in question is massive, so I’m gonna leave this here now.
Thanks as always for everyone’s replies. If it happens again I’ve got stuff to work on from the suggestions here.
Cheers
Lee
